Airbus Defence and Space will establish a new A330 MRTT aircraft conversion hub in Seville, Spain, aimed at increasing military tanker production and support capabilities. The facility will convert civilian A330 aircraft into tanker and transport variants while also performing maintenance and upgrades on existing fleets. Airbus expects the center to become operational by 2027 and raise annual production capacity from five to seven aircraft. The expansion comes amid growing international demand for MRTT aircraft, especially after Italy ordered six A330 MRTTs under a deal valued at approximately $1.6 billion.
