The US Navy is continuing to modernize its airborne command-and-control fleet by acquiring three additional E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Block II aircraft from Northrop Grumman. Serving as one of the most important surveillance platforms aboard aircraft carriers, the Hawkeye detects aircraft, missiles, ships, and other potential threats far beyond the horizon while directing coordinated operations across multiple combat forces. The latest Block II improvements deliver faster computing, stronger digital connectivity, and enhanced software performance, enabling crews to process greater volumes of battlefield information with increased speed and accuracy. The acquisition reinforces the Navy’s commitment to maintaining superior maritime awareness and supporting future multi-domain military operations.
