Turkey has officially ordered its first 20 KAAN stealth fighters from Turkish Aerospace Industries, marking a major milestone in the country’s indigenous combat aircraft program. Designed as a fifth-generation fighter with stealth, sensor fusion, and advanced strike capabilities, KAAN is intended to replace Turkey’s aging F-16 fleet while strengthening domestic aerospace independence. The program also reflects Ankara’s growing ambitions in the international defense market following a major export agreement with Indonesia.
