Poland has signed a $3.8B contract with the US to modernize 48 F-16s to the Block 72 configuration. The program, running 2028–2038, upgrades avionics, radars, and electronic warfare systems. Most work will be in Poland with Lockheed Martin, reinforcing NATO interoperability. The deal fits within Warsaw’s $7.3B Viper Midlife Upgrade, countering rising Russian threats.
