French President Emmanuel Macron announced that France is willing to engage in discussions with European countries about the potential deployment of French nuclear-armed aircraft on their soil, similar to U.S. arrangements in nations like Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Turkey. Speaking to TF1 television, Macron emphasized that he would outline the specific framework for such talks in the coming weeks and months. He also set clear conditions: France would not bear the cost of others’ security, the move must not compromise France’s own defense needs, and any final decision would remain solely with the French president as commander-in-chief.
