In a notable development to bolster its maritime strike capabilities, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has proposed equipping the Indian Navy’s MH-60R Seahawk maritime helicopters with the state-of-the-art Naval Strike Missile (NSM). The Indian Navy currently operates nine MH-60R Seahawks, with 15 more expected to be delivered by the end of 2025. Integrating the NSM with these helicopters will substantially enhance the Navy’s ability to engage surface and coastal targets over extended ranges.
