The US Army plans to continue relying on Raytheon for technical and logistics support of the TOW Improved Target Acquisition System over the coming years. The proposed program includes equipment sustainment, spare-part availability, technical field services, and lifecycle management for both American forces and future allied operators. Officials noted that Raytheon’s involvement in designing the original system makes it uniquely qualified to provide ongoing support. The ITAS platform significantly improves battlefield effectiveness by combining precision optics, thermal imaging, laser measurement, and digital fire-control technologies, allowing operators to accurately engage enemy armored vehicles under challenging operational conditions.
