Research Centre Imarat has successfully conducted the maiden flight trial of the Tactical Advanced Range Augmentation (TARA) glide bomb kit, an indigenous system designed to convert conventional gravity bombs into precision-guided long-range strike weapons. Developed for the Indian Air Force, the TARA kit incorporates deployable wings, GPS-assisted navigation, inertial guidance, and electro-optical seekers to improve strike accuracy while extending engagement ranges up to 180 kilometers depending on release altitude and mission profile.
