MARSS to Supply Kuwait With AI-Enabled Defense Network in $490M Deal — Kuwait has selected British defense technology firm MARSS for a £370 million ($490.5 million) contract to deploy an integrated system designed to protect the country against unmanned aerial system threats. The planned network will combine electro-optical, radar, and sonar sensors with MARSS’ proprietary NiDAR command-and-control platform, which uses artificial intelligence to consolidate tracking data, evaluate air and sea threats, and help operators respond more quickly. Its defensive capabilities will include electronic jammers to disrupt threats and interceptors to physically defeat them. According to the UK, the contract complements Task Force Sabre, an initiative coordinating weapons and equipment deliveries to Gulf defense partners as regional concerns grow over Iranian missile and drone attacks amid the broader conflict involving the US and Israel. The deal is also expected to create or sustain approximately 100 engineering and manufacturing roles at MARSS’ Bristol plant and across the British supply chain.
