The US government is increasing support for AeroVironment’s Freedom Eagle-1 counter-drone missile program with new funding aimed at boosting production capacity. The FE-1 interceptor is designed to provide a cost-effective solution against increasingly capable unmanned aerial systems, including larger tactical drones. The investment will expand manufacturing infrastructure in Alabama and support upcoming production requirements for the US Army’s next-generation counter-UAS efforts. Developed on an accelerated timeline, the missile combines high-performance interception capability with scalable production intended to meet growing operational demand.
