Denmark is expanding its heavy military transport capacity through a Broshuis order for 15 Heavy Equipment Trailers intended to support the movement of Leopard 2 tanks. Scania placed the order for the Danish military, continuing the companies’ partnership, with Scania responsible for tractor vehicles and Broshuis for the trailers. The deliveries scheduled for later this year will take Denmark’s combined military ground-logistics fleet beyond 60 platforms. The requirement follows the introduction of 44 Leopard 2A7 tanks into Danish service. Broshuis designed its HET system for both road and off-road movement and gives it an 85-tonne payload rating, increasing to 90 tonnes when matched with heavier tractor units. The trailer features a 900mm loading height, 600mm suspension travel, hydraulic compensation and auxiliary steering, enabling operation across terrain with gradients of up to 18 percent.
