KNDS has unveiled CELERIS 8×8, a new military vehicle architecture intended to dramatically reduce the time required to develop modern wheeled armoured platforms. The system was presented at the MSPO 2026 defence exhibition in Poland, where the company highlighted its ability to support the rapid development of next-generation combat vehicles. The platform provides the basic architecture and technologies required for an 8×8 chassis. It is designed to serve as a common foundation onto which customers can add different levels of armour, weapons, sensors and mission-specific equipment. According to KNDS, the approach could compress development of a new wheeled combat vehicle to less than a year.By using a standardized and adaptable vehicle foundation, the company aims to reduce both development time and the effort required to create different vehicle variants. The architecture could therefore support multiple operational configurations without requiring an entirely new chassis for every application. The CELERIS concept reflects a broader defence-industry push toward modular vehicle designs that can be rapidly adapted as battlefield requirements change. Its ability to accommodate different protection and weapon packages could allow the platform to serve as the basis for several future armoured vehicle programmes.
