FNSS has developed the İ-ZAHA unmanned modular amphibious vehicle as a potential solution for operations in which conventional crewed vehicles could expose personnel to significant danger.The U-MAV is designed to move through both water and terrain without carrying a crew. It weighs approximately 8 tons and can reach 7 knots in water. On land, its maximum speed is reported at 70 kilometers per hour.A major feature is the vehicle’s interchangeable payload system. FNSS has designed the platform to support 10 mission configurations, allowing the same vehicle to perform different functions depending on the equipment installed.The payload packages can reportedly be exchanged in the field in roughly 40 minutes. This gives operators the possibility of changing the vehicle’s role without sending it back to a major maintenance facility.The concept is particularly focused on amphibious assault environments, where the initial movement from water to land can expose troops and equipment to significant threats. An unmanned vehicle could potentially perform certain tasks before personnel enter the area.The İ-ZAHA demonstrates how modular robotics are being explored for complex military missions. Its ability to combine water mobility, high land speed, unmanned operation, and rapid payload changes could provide commanders with a flexible tool for future expeditionary operations.
