Patria is considering a new mission configuration for its TRACKX armoured tracked vehicle that would allow it to perform mobile mine-laying operations. The Finnish company has signed an MoU to assess the integration of a BELMA-developed automated mine deployment system onto the flatbed version of TRACKX.The Polish system is designed for rapid and automated mine deployment and can reportedly place up to 600 anti-tank mines in under 20 minutes. If successfully integrated, the combination would give operators a protected and mobile platform for deploying minefields. Patria says the potential solution could be offered in selected overseas markets while also expanding cooperation between Finnish and Polish defence industries.TRACKX originated from the EU-backed FAMOUS programme, which was created to develop advanced and highly mobile armoured military platforms. Patria introduced the vehicle in September 2025. It is built for operation in demanding terrain and incorporates ballistic and mine protection based on NATO standards.The vehicle has a driver and commander and provides seating for up to 10 troops. A 12.7mm machine gun can also be integrated for self-defence or combat missions. Finland, Latvia and Norway signed a statement of intent in July 2026 to pursue TRACKX acquisitions, potentially paving the way for serial production and procurement from the beginning of 2027.
