The German Armed Forces have placed a new order with Rheinmetall for 149 mobile rescue and medical stations under an existing framework agreement. The latest contract is worth more than €500 million and raises the overall number of systems ordered to 165. The total program is now valued at more than €600 million. The contract also includes training for military personnel and provisions that could allow Germany to order additional vehicles in the future. Manufacturing is scheduled to start in early 2027, with deliveries planned through 2029. Rheinmetall’s Project Solutions business will manage the project. The vehicles are part of Germany’s effort to introduce modular medical infrastructure that can be deployed quickly in frontline and emergency situations. A total of 112 systems will feature ballistic protection. The medical stations are designed to deliver first-level emergency treatment before patients are moved to more advanced medical facilities. Their expandable modules can be deployed rapidly by four personnel and include independent power generation and climate-control equipment. The interior layout uses modular mounting systems, allowing medical equipment to be configured around an emergency room and several additional treatment areas.
