Belrise Industries of Pune has signed a strategic partnership with Israeli defense company Plasan to manufacture electric unmanned ground vehicle components in India, marking a significant step in the country’s efforts to localize advanced military technologies.
The collaboration will focus on customizing Plasan’s All-Terrain Electric Mission Module (ATEMM) to meet the operational requirements of the Indian military. The ATEMM is a compact 2×2 autonomous electric platform engineered to deliver high mobility, enhanced survivability, and increased onboard energy capacity for battlefield operations.
The 2-meter-long system can function independently or be attached as a powered trailer, supplying up to 50 kWh of electrical power to other military assets. By linking multiple modules, the platform can be expanded into 4×4 or 8×8 electric vehicles, offering power output equivalent to 800 horsepower and payload capacities above 2,000 kg.
This initiative follows a wider cooperation agreement between Belrise and Plasan signed in late 2024, aimed at industrial collaboration and defense manufacturing in India. Plasan will bring its expertise in vehicle protection and survivability solutions, while Belrise will support production using its experience in automotive chassis and suspension systems, reinforcing India’s defense industrialization and Make in India objectives.
