SAMI (Saudi Arabian Military Industries) has signed a strategic agreement with Amentum UK and International to enhance its capabilities in maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrades (MROU) for armored vehicles and land combat systems.
The partnership seeks to make SAMI’s land systems division the leading domestic hub for MROU, implementing industry best practices and advanced operational standards to keep pace with Saudi Arabia’s growing defense needs.
The project also carries significant economic benefits, including job creation, strengthening of the industrial supply chain, and technology transfer that will expand national expertise in armored vehicle support and modernization.
Supporting the goals of Vision 2030, the collaboration contributes to the kingdom’s ambition to localize over half of military spending by decade’s end. Among the platforms currently maintained by SAMI are the Al-Faris 8-400, Al-Kaser, and Al-Mansour APCs, the Al-Masmak and Tuwaiq MRAPs, and the Ashibl family of light armored vehicles.
