Turkey has introduced a powerful new defense asset—the ALKA-KAPLAN hybrid combat vehicle—specifically engineered to counter drone threats through laser-based technology. The system is the result of a joint effort by Turkish defense companies FNSS and ROKETSAN and merges two of their most advanced technologies: the KAPLAN HYBRID tracked vehicle and the ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System.

Equipped with a high-energy laser weapon, the ALKA-KAPLAN is capable of detecting hostile drones, jamming their communication links, and eliminating them with precision. Its hybrid propulsion system allows for quiet operation, enhancing its effectiveness in stealth missions.

Additionally, the vehicle includes mission-essential payloads such as high-resolution imaging systems, mission control kits, and image-aided navigation tools. These features support both remotely piloted and autonomous operation modes, making the platform adaptable to diverse combat scenarios.

The ALKA-KAPLAN represents a significant leap in Turkey’s pursuit of advanced unmanned threat neutralization technologies, offering a modern, efficient, and silent solution for battlefield drone defense.
