The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) will be outfitted with a directed energy bomb disposal technology thanks to a partnership between the US Air Force and Parsons Corporation. In order to upgrade its Recovery of Airbase Denied by Ordnance (RADBO) capabilities—which include vehicles equipped with laser technology intended to eliminate unexploded objects in airfields and other environments—the army is making this development. The Virginia-based company will contribute its flagship Zeus 4 high-energy weapon, which can destroy up to 50 different kinds of munitions, including general-purpose bombs and landmines, as part of the partnership.
