Romtehnica, acting on behalf of the Romanian Ministry of Defense, inked an agreement with Turkish land systems manufacturer Otokar to deliver 1,059 COBRA II 4×4 light tactical armored vehicles. This multi-year agreement, which is estimated to be worth €857 million, represents a major turning point in Romania’s military modernization initiatives. Significant indigenous production in Romania is also included by the deal, enhancing the two nations’ industrial relations.
