The US Army is moving toward a new era of battlefield logistics by investing in autonomous robotic vehicles capable of delivering critical supplies without putting soldiers at unnecessary risk. Through Project Sustainment, five defense companies are developing advanced robotic platforms that will transform how ammunition, equipment, fuel, and mission supplies are transported during future military operations. Building on previous robotic transport programs, these systems will provide greater mobility, increased payload capacity, and improved operational flexibility. Vehicles such as BLADE’s Dire WOLF demonstrate how autonomous technology can support troops by navigating harsh terrain, carrying heavy loads, and providing power to frontline units. The program represents the Army’s broader vision of using intelligent machines to create faster, safer, and more reliable battlefield supply networks.
