Lockheed Martin will deliver upgraded training devices to support the Royal Australian Air Force’s expanding C-130J fleet under a US foreign military sale agreement.

The program includes two weapon systems trainers, a refined integrated cockpit systems trainer, a loadmaster training unit, and modernization of virtual simulation and maintenance systems. Managed by Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, equipment deliveries are set to begin in 2029.

The advanced trainers will feature realistic cockpit layouts, enhanced visual systems, and motion simulation to prepare crews for 20 newly ordered C-130J-30 Super Hercules aircraft. These aircraft will augment and partially replace Australia’s current fleet, with deliveries beginning in 2028.

The versatile C-130J can transport personnel, humanitarian cargo, and heavy systems such as the M142 HIMARS, supporting high-mobility battlefield operations.
