In a move to bolster training for its fifth-generation fighter pilots, Denmark has secured a set of “threat emitter” simulators for F-35 Lightning II operations. These systems allow pilots to train against realistic, radar-based adversary signatures detected through their jet’s radar interface. The upgrade responds to military recommendations aimed at enhancing pilot response to complex threats. The simulators follow Denmark’s receipt of four F-35A aircraft in May, pushing its total to 15 units. A further six jets are expected to be delivered before the close of 2026 as part of the country’s air fleet overhaul.
