India has approved the development of a prototype for its fifth-generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), marking a significant step in its efforts to strengthen domestic defense production. The move, announced by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, comes amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan and China and aligns with India’s broader goal of military modernization. The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), under the Ministry of Defense, will lead the project in collaboration with industry partners to advance the country’s indigenous fighter jet capabilities.
