Germany has commissioned Rheinmetall to supply 23 upgraded Bergepanzer 3 Büffel recovery vehicles as part of efforts to restore military inventories following aid provided to Ukraine. Built on the Leopard 2 tank platform, the vehicles feature heavy-lift recovery equipment, robust winches, and battlefield repair capabilities. The procurement strengthens armored support operations and ensures sustained logistical assistance for combat units. Production is already underway, with deliveries expected to continue through the end of the decade.
