In a bold industrial step, KNDS France has entered into an alliance with Metlen Energy & Metals, based in Athens, to produce the new-generation Philoctetes infantry fighting vehicle for Greece’s military modernization. The project is rooted in the transfer of technical know-how from the French VBCI Mark 2 platform, focusing on high-strength aluminum structures and innovative welding processes.
Data and expertise shared under the agreement will be used to localize the assembly and final production of Philoctetes vehicles, scaling up outputs to satisfy both Greek requirements and future international orders. This partnership showcases Europe’s commitment to shared defense innovation and industrial resilience, with a clear eye on regional and export markets.
