A new armoured vehicle maintenance contract has been signed between FMV, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, and Finnish defence company Millog Oy. The deal seeks to enhance bilateral defence cooperation between Sweden and Finland while ensuring reliable technical support for armoured vehicles like the Patria XA 202.
FMV, which manages procurement and service delivery for Sweden’s military, will now have access to Millog’s specialised maintenance capabilities. This agreement also allows the Swedish Defence Forces to benefit from Finnish service networks during joint exercises and international deployments.
“We are excited to deepen our cooperation, which strengthens our collective defence posture. This agreement enables us to provide expert support to FMV and the Swedish Defence Forces both in Finland, in Sweden, and wherever needed,” said Toni Piispa, Director of Millog Oy’s Authorities and Industry Business Unit.
With security dynamics in Northern Europe shifting, there is an increasing need for agile mobility and stronger regional collaboration. Patria’s armoured vehicles offer strategic advantages for large operational areas, particularly in the Nordic and Baltic regions. The agreement will improve technical and logistical support access for the Swedish Defence Forces across Northern Europe and foster future vehicle system advancements.
The contract, effective from spring 2025, supports FMV’s broader mission to secure the long-term maintenance, availability, and development of critical defence assets in partnership with Nordic neighbours.
