Boeing was given a $2.4 billion contract by the Air Force on Thursday to purchase 15 more KC-46A Pegasus refueling tankers. Boeing said in a release that the KC-46 deal, which covers the 11th batch of the tankers, will increase the total number of contracts it has worldwide to 168.Since 2019, Boeing has shipped 89 KC-46s to the Air Force and four more to the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. Boeing has agreed to sell Israel four KC-46s, with delivery scheduled to begin in 2025.The Pentagon estimates that the 15 KC-46s, which are manufactured at Boeing’s Everett, Washington, facility, will be finished by the end of June 2028.
