For the first time, Japan has displayed its enhanced Type 12 missile launcher vehicle during its largest live-fire military exercise.
Approximately 4,000 high school students and parents gathered at Higashi-Fuji in Shizuoka for the event, aimed at recruitment.
Equipped with four launchers on an 8×8 wheeled chassis, the system is central to Japan’s evolving counterstrike capability.
The Ministry of Defense will begin deploying the platform in 2025 across seven surface-to-ship missile units nationwide.
