Taiwanese security officials say China has deployed over 100 naval, coast guard, and support vessels across key regional waterways in one of the largest recent maritime force concentrations around the island. The deployment follows heightened tensions surrounding US-Taiwan arms sales and ongoing concerns about Beijing’s military pressure campaign. Taiwan continues to rely heavily on American defense support as China expands its naval presence and conducts near-daily military operations intended to demonstrate its ability to isolate or pressure the self-governed island.
