India’s Bharat Electronics Limited is developing a new loitering munition platform aimed at enhancing autonomous battlefield strike capabilities for the armed forces. Designed for both autonomous and semi-autonomous missions, the system can independently identify and engage targets while supporting precision attacks against soft and lightly armored threats. Featuring onboard sensors, mission abort functions, and catapult launch capability, the platform reflects the growing importance of AI-enabled precision strike systems in modern warfare and marks BEL’s deeper expansion into unmanned combat technologies.
