Romania is improving its air defence capabilities with the AI-powered Merops counter-drone system. Combining radar, sensors, and autonomous drones, it enhances the ability to detect and neutralize aerial threats. The system addresses increasing drone incursions near the Ukraine border and supports NATO’s broader defence objectives in the region.
