The Pentagon is moving forward with large-scale procurement of Anduril’s Barracuda-500M cruise missile, a low-cost and mass-producible strike system designed for long-range precision attacks. Fired from standard containerized launchers, the missile combines modular design, autonomous software integration, and commercial manufacturing methods to enable rapid production at scale. The initiative highlights Washington’s push to build affordable, high-volume missile inventories capable of supporting distributed and long-range warfare operations.
