The UK Ministry of Defence has selected Amentum UK for a £12 million hypersonics development contract aimed at delivering a sovereign, long-range missile capable of traveling beyond Mach 5.
The initiative includes engineering design and flight testing of a demonstrator, forming the foundation for future operational prototypes designed to tolerate high heat and aerodynamic loads.
Under the Team Hypersonics (UK) collaboration, Amentum will work with Ebeni and Synthetik Applied Technologies UK Ltd to advance the program, supporting the government’s plan to deploy hypersonic weapons by the end of the decade.
