Australia confirmed this week that it is making a massive foreign military purchase of $4.7 billion worth of American-made SM-2 and SM-6 missiles, two of the most sophisticated air defense interceptors in the world. This spring, the two countries completed the agreement.The government promised in the plan to quadruple the number of its large warships and establish a more robust military sector of its own.
