A new autonomous helicopter concept called the R66 TURBINETRUCK is being developed by Sikorsky and Robinson Helicopter Company to support cargo transport and logistics missions. The aircraft eliminates the cockpit and crew stations, allowing more internal space for cargo. Its modular design enables operators to adapt the helicopter for multiple roles through software updates and hardware adjustments. The design also incorporates a large cargo compartment and clamshell loading door to improve efficiency during supply operations.
