The Mojave uncrewed aircraft has completed a short-field operational demonstration in cooperation with the Republic of Korea Army. GA-ASI and Hanwha Aerospace described the event as the first battlefield short-field operation conducted by a MALE-class unmanned aerial system. The demonstration took place at military sites north of Seoul and involved the aircraft’s short takeoff and landing capability. Operators controlled the drone from ground control stations while launching it from a conventional runway at the ROK Army’s 513th Aviation Battalion. The exercise was intended to demonstrate how the Mojave can operate from runways requiring less infrastructure than those normally associated with larger unmanned aircraft. Its STOL capability could provide additional flexibility for battlefield deployment and operations from dispersed locations. The demonstration was conducted by GA-ASI and Hanwha Aerospace alongside the South Korean Army, providing an operational setting for evaluating the Mojave’s ability to support military missions using short-field launch and recovery procedures.
