Aryavart Technologies has unveiled the TEJAS STOL unmanned aerial vehicle, a new indigenous platform designed for tactical military operations and long-range surveillance missions. The UAV has been developed to meet India’s evolving battlefield and border security requirements while supporting the country’s broader push for self-reliance in defence technology. The TEJAS STOL is a fixed-wing drone capable of vehicle-launch operations and Short Take-Off and Landing functionality, enabling deployment from compact and austere locations without conventional runway infrastructure. The UAV combines advanced autonomous flight systems with resilient communication architecture for operations in challenging electronic warfare environments. The platform is designed to support tactical reconnaissance, surveillance, and precision mission requirements across modern combat scenarios. Equipped with advanced Electro-Optical and Infrared payloads, the drone can perform intelligence and surveillance operations during both day and night conditions. Aryavart Technologies highlighted that the UAV incorporates electronic warfare-resistant systems intended to maintain reliable navigation and communication even in environments affected by jamming or GPS spoofing. The drone also offers long-endurance mission capability and high-speed tactical performance, enabling extended surveillance over operational areas. Its vehicle-launch design enhances mobility and rapid deployment flexibility for frontline forces operating in remote terrain. The launch of TEJAS STOL follows the company’s earlier delivery of the ARYA-5001 tactical UAV to the Indian Air Force and demonstrates the increasing contribution of Indian private-sector firms to the country’s indigenous defence drone ecosystem.
