Sweden has placed an order with Saab for an undisclosed quantity of AUV62-MR autonomous underwater vehicles, designed for naval mine detection operations. These systems will enhance the Swedish Navy’s ability to conduct underwater reconnaissance by scanning the seabed and generating high-resolution sonar images. The AUVs are aimed at improving the identification of submerged threats, such as mines, while supporting safer maritime navigation and operations.
