Auterion and Airlogix have joined forces to manufacture thousands of drones in Germany for Ukraine, with the programme targeting production of more than 5,000 unmanned aerial systems. Germany is funding the initiative under an approximately 300-million-euro contract, or around $349 million.The manufacturing programme covers the Seth X and Anubis drone families. Seth X is intended for medium-range missions involving coordinated or swarm-based operations. Anubis is designed for longer-range strike missions and is reported to have a maximum reach of up to 1,500 kilometres. It can reportedly carry a 50-kilogram warhead, giving it a significantly different operational role from the swarm-oriented platform.Production has already started near Munich, where the first assembly facility is operating. Plans are also being developed for a second factory in eastern Germany. Establishing multiple sites could help increase output and reduce dependence on a single production location.The project highlights the growing importance of industrial-scale drone manufacturing in modern warfare. Rather than relying solely on small batches of specialist systems, Ukraine and its international partners are increasingly pursuing mass production of relatively adaptable unmanned platforms. The Auterion-Airlogix partnership combines software and autonomy expertise with Ukrainian experience in drone development and combat-oriented manufacturing, creating a European-based supply arrangement backed by German funding.
