Rheinmetall has been contracted by Ukraine to supply 35mm ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft gun. 180,000 rounds of High Explosive Incendiary with Tracer (HEI-T) ammunition are part of the latest order, which is being funded by Germany.Drones and other aerial targets can be thwarted by the shells. The ammunition will be produced in Rheinmetall’s plant in Unterlüß, in northern Germany, where the business extended its production line in 2023.
