Estonia’s Milrem Robotics and South Korea’s Hanwha Systems have initiated a strategic technology partnership aimed at expanding the operational capabilities of unmanned ground combat vehicles. The collaboration will evaluate the integration of advanced intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance (ISR) sensors, electronic warfare suites, communication technologies, and precision weapon payloads onto Milrem’s autonomous vehicle platforms. By combining modular robotic mobility with mission-specific payloads, the companies intend to develop versatile systems capable of border security, convoy protection, reconnaissance, critical infrastructure defense, and combat support missions. The initiative reflects the increasing shift toward autonomous land systems that enhance battlefield awareness while reducing the exposure of military personnel in high-risk operational environments.
