Sweden is set to acquire 20 M142 HIMARS rocket launchers following approval from the US State Department for a $930-million defense package. The deal includes various guided rockets, extended-range munitions, communications equipment, and artillery command systems. HIMARS is a wheeled launcher capable of delivering precision strikes against high-value targets while remaining highly mobile. Its ability to deploy rapidly by aircraft such as the C-130 and quickly relocate after firing has made it a popular artillery system among allied forces.
