The British Army has expanded its evaluation of autonomous logistics technologies by completing specialized training designed to prepare personnel for future multinational experimentation under Project Convergence Capstone 6. The program familiarized soldiers with autonomous military vehicle operations using Rheinmetall’s PATH Autonomous Kit integrated into HX2 logistics vehicles. Combining advanced sensors, artificial intelligence, precision navigation, and vehicle automation software, the technology enables military trucks to operate independently or within coordinated convoy formations while remaining under human supervision. Training included convoy leadership, operational monitoring, route planning, contingency response, obstacle negotiation, and autonomous movement across challenging terrain. Conducted under Project MAIA, the initiative examines how intelligent logistics platforms can reduce operational risk, improve supply chain resilience, and maintain sustainment operations in highly contested environments. Insights gathered from upcoming multinational trials will contribute to future doctrine development while supporting broader modernization efforts focused on integrating autonomous ground systems into military logistics operations.
