Austrian defense company STI Steyr has proposed its LMV-X and LTV-X vehicle family for Austria’s large-scale military modernization initiative. Designed using a modular and scalable architecture, the platforms can perform reconnaissance, troop transport, command-and-control, logistics, and specialized combat support missions while simplifying maintenance through common components. The vehicles are engineered to accommodate future communications systems, electronic warfare equipment, advanced sensors, and counter-drone technologies. Domestic production, local industrial participation, and long-term upgrade potential position the proposal as a strategic investment in Austria’s defense capability and manufacturing sector.
