Startup Grid Aero, headquartered in California, has unveiled its first product, the Lifter-Lite cargo drone, after operating in stealth mode. The company refers to the system as the “pickup truck of the skies,” highlighting its role as a versatile transport platform for both defense and commercial sectors.

The unmanned aircraft was developed in just six months, showcasing rapid prototyping and engineering. It can carry large payloads over significant distances, while its modular design allows operators to tailor payload capacity and flight range for specific mission demands.

Equipped with a hybrid of manual controls and AI-enabled systems, the Lifter-Lite delivers high levels of operational autonomy. This fusion of technologies ensures efficiency for long-haul cargo delivery, even in remote or overseas operations.

In addition to logistics, the platform is designed to support ISR missions, giving it a dual-use capability. Crucially, it has been engineered to survive and perform in contested airspace, enhancing its value for militaries seeking reliable unmanned solutions for complex theaters of operation
