Turkish defense company SolidAERO has drawn significant attention by unveiling exclusive test footage of its innovative unmanned aerial vehicle, TALAY. This maritime kamikaze drone operates using the wing-in-ground effect, enabling it to glide just above sea level at sub-meter altitudes. This approach allows TALAY to evade radar detection with remarkable efficiency.
Described as the world’s first low-altitude, multi-role UAV tailored for maritime and coastal strike missions, TALAY represents a major leap in unmanned aerial capabilities. The footage, recorded and distributed by Anadolu Agency, showcases the drone skimming the ocean surface with precision—highlighting its unique potential in naval warfare.
SolidAERO plans to officially debut TALAY at the IDEF 2025 defense exhibition in Istanbul, where the system is expected to spark major interest among military analysts and naval planners. As sea-based warfare tactics continue to evolve, TALAY could dramatically shift the way nations approach maritime UAV strike operations.
