Rolls-Royce Submarines has initiated a large-scale expansion of its Raynesway production complex to meet growing demand for nuclear propulsion systems supporting British and Australian submarine programs. The upgraded facility will manufacture reactors for the Royal Navy’s Astute and Dreadnought classes while supporting production for Australia’s future SSN-AUKUS fleet. The expansion includes significant investment in manufacturing infrastructure, engineering facilities, and workforce development, ensuring long-term support for allied submarine modernization while strengthening the United Kingdom’s strategic nuclear propulsion industrial base.
