Danish defense technology firm Terma has announced a landmark naval contract with Albwardy Damen, marking its most significant regional agreement in the Middle East and Africa. The deal will provide advanced mission systems for a new fleet of naval vessels, showcasing Terma’s growing role in enhancing maritime security and underlining its long-term strategy of regional expansion.
Under the agreement, Terma will deliver its C-Flex Tactical Mission System, SCANTER 6002 surveillance radar, and the C-Guard Decoy Launching System. This integrated suite of systems will equip naval forces with superior situational awareness, greater defensive capability, and improved mission efficiency. Although SCANTER radar technology is already present in the region, the new contract represents the first comprehensive deployment of Terma’s naval technology portfolio to MEA customers, signaling strengthened confidence in its capabilities.
Shipbuilding will be led by Albwardy Damen, a company partly owned by the Damen Shipyards Group, which is recognized internationally for its innovation in naval and commercial ship construction. Albwardy Damen’s proven track record in high-quality vessel design complements Terma’s focus on delivering mission-critical defense systems, ensuring the new ships will meet evolving maritime threats and operational demands.
For Terma, the agreement reflects more than just a single contract—it is a strategic step toward expanding its influence in critical international markets. By leveraging regional partnerships, such as with Albwardy Damen, Terma is cementing its reputation as a trusted defense partner capable of delivering both advanced technology and enduring solutions for naval customers worldwide.
