Raytheon has signed a breakthrough agreement with the UAE’s Tawazun Council to establish indigenous production of the Coyote counter-drone system. This collaboration is set to transform the Gulf nation’s approach to aerial threat management by enabling assembly, testing, and integration of the Coyote’s subsystems within the country—using Tawazun Industrial Park as a dedicated facility.
A principal outcome of this partnership is the strengthening of the UAE’s domestic defense industry. Local companies will benefit from direct involvement in producing and supporting advanced counter-drone technologies, developing specialized expertise, and fostering innovation within the national defense sector. This manufacturing localization enables the country to respond quicker to emerging operational requirements and reduces timelines for field deployment.
Additionally, this agreement reinforces the deep-rooted defense alliance between the US and the UAE. By empowering local industry, the partnership not only ensures faster logistics and maintenance cycles but also supports bilateral goals of security, technology sharing, and strategic cooperation in a complex regional landscape.
